Before any single placement, stand back. Are the planets bunched into a third of the wheel or scattered evenly? A bundle chart concentrates a life; a splash spreads it. A bucket, with one planet alone opposite the rest, funnels everything through that single handle — often the most consequential placement in the chart.
Then count elements and modalities. Four planets in fire with none in earth is a real statement: enormous initiation, weak follow-through, and probably a partner or colleague who does the earth work. A missing element is usually outsourced rather than absent.
Modality matters just as much and gets half the attention. Cardinal starts, fixed sustains, mutable adapts. A heavily fixed chart is not stubborn as a character flaw; it is a person for whom changing direction is genuinely expensive.
