The Body Graph
Human Design
A decision-making system rather than a personality test. It asks one question: how does your body say yes?
In short
Find your Human Design type, strategy, inner authority, profile and defined centres, and learn how to make decisions the way your body prefers.
- Run one experiment at a time and give it a full lunar cycle before judging it.
- Emotional authority means no clarity in the moment — the rule is to sleep on anything that matters.
- Open centres are not weaknesses; they are where you are wise about other people because you have felt every version of it.
- Ignore the more elaborate layers until strategy and authority have been tested for a season.
Human Design is a late-twentieth-century synthesis, first published in 1992, that overlays the I Ching's sixty-four hexagrams onto a body graph and cross-references astrology, the chakra system and the Kabbalistic tree. It is young and syncretic, and it is best treated as a language for describing decision-making rather than an ancient tradition.
Its practical core is small: a type, a strategy for engaging with the world, and an inner authority for making decisions. Most of the value people report comes from those three, experimented with over months.
Questions Readers Ask
How exact does my birth time need to be?
Within a few minutes. Gate and line changes happen quickly, and the profile can shift with a quarter of an hour.
What is the 88-degree design calculation?
A second chart cast when the Sun was 88 degrees of arc before the birth position, roughly 88 days earlier, representing the unconscious body.
Is this compatible with astrology?
It uses astrological positions as input, but the interpretive layer is entirely its own.
