The Four Lines That Do Most of the Work
Heart, head, life and fate — what depth, length, chains and breaks actually indicate.
Read the dominant hand for what is, the other for what was given
The non-dominant hand shows inherited temperament and potential. The dominant hand shows what you have done with it. Differences between the two are the most interesting part of any palm reading.
Heart line
Runs across the top of the palm. Curving upward toward the fingers: expressive, demonstrative affection. Straight and flat: private, loyal, slow to display. Chained: many small emotional disturbances, often self-inflicted through overthinking. A deep clean line means feelings arrive whole and are acted on.
Head line
Straight indicates linear, practical thinking. Sloping toward the wrist indicates imagination and lateral leaps. Long lines belong to people who consider before acting; short, decisive lines to people who act and then explain.
Life line
It has nothing to do with lifespan — a persistent and unhelpful myth. It describes vitality, rootedness and major changes of circumstance. Wide arcs show physical enthusiasm; tight arcs hugging the thumb show caution and conserved energy. Breaks with an overlap mark a relocation or reinvention, not a catastrophe.
Fate line
Vertical, rising toward the middle finger. Present and strong: a clear sense of vocation, sometimes an inherited one. Faint or absent: a self-directed life that changes shape several times, which many people find freer.
